Who is responsible for your information?

FixPoint IT Support is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about this notice or exercise your data-protection rights through our secure enquiry form.

Information we collect

When you send an enquiry, we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, chosen service and message. Our security and hosting providers may also process browser, device, network and interaction information needed to protect and deliver the website.

If you choose Chat with FixPoint, the website then loads the tawk.to chat service. tawk.to may process your IP address, browser and device information, and any name, email address, message or file you choose to send. The chat asks for consent before a conversation starts.

If you accept optional measurement, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising process information such as device and browser details, approximate location, pages viewed, website interactions and advertising click identifiers. After a successful enquiry, we send a conversion event containing the selected service and the service page used. We do not send your name, email address, phone number or enquiry message to Google or Microsoft.

To detect email-delivery problems, we keep a limited technical log containing the Resend email and enquiry identifiers, whether the message was for us or for the customer, send attempts (including rejected or unconfirmed sends), the sending domain, delivery events and times, and a technical failure reason. The delivery log does not contain the customer's email address, email subject or enquiry message.

Why we use it

  • To answer genuine enquiries and take steps you request before entering into a contract.
  • For our legitimate interests in arranging, providing and documenting requested repair or IT-support services.
  • For our legitimate interests in protecting the form and website from automated abuse and security threats.
  • With your consent, to provide website live chat and respond to the messages you choose to send.
  • With your consent, to understand website use, measure whether Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising clicks result in enquiries and improve the customer journey and advertising campaign performance.

We do not use enquiry details for unrelated marketing. If that ever changes, marketing consent will be requested separately and will remain optional.

Services that process information

Resend

Delivers the enquiry to our Gmail inbox and sends your confirmation copy. Resend also sends signed delivery events so that failures and bounces can be identified. Resend retains email data for 30 days.

Resend privacy policy

Cloudflare

Hosts and protects the website. Cloudflare Turnstile checks whether form submissions appear genuine using browser, device, network and interaction signals.

Cloudflare privacy policy

tawk.to

Provides the optional website chat and shared support inbox. Its script is requested only after you select Chat with FixPoint. tawk.to processes chat data in the United States and provides transfer safeguards described in its privacy and data-protection documents.

tawk.to privacy policy

Google Analytics & Google Ads

Measures website use and whether an advertisement leads to a successful enquiry only after you accept optional measurement. Advertising personalisation, remarketing and Google signals remain disabled in our configuration.

Google privacy policy

Microsoft Clarity & Advertising

Microsoft Clarity helps us understand page views, clicks, scrolling and session interactions, and Microsoft Advertising measures whether a Microsoft or Bing advertisement leads to a successful enquiry. Both stay off unless you accept optional measurement. Remarketing and enhanced-conversion customer-data sharing are not enabled.

Microsoft privacy statement

These providers may process information outside the UK. Where international transfers occur, the provider is responsible for using the safeguards described in its privacy and compliance documentation.

Cookies and browser storage

Strictly necessary security technology is used without optional measurement consent because it is required to protect and operate the website. Google Analytics, Google Ads, Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising measurement storage are blocked unless you select Accept measurement.

How long we keep information

Resend retains email data for 30 days. Our limited technical delivery log is also deleted after 30 days. tawk.to retains chat data until it is deleted; we will remove chats when they are no longer reasonably needed for the purposes described here. We keep enquiry and service emails only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, provide requested work, handle queries or disputes and meet legal record-keeping requirements. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or securely disposed of.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict your information, or object to how it is used. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful use.

Contact us through the enquiry form. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Please protect sensitive information

Never send passwords, authentication codes, recovery keys or payment-card details through the enquiry form, website chat or email. We will arrange a safer method if sensitive access is genuinely needed for requested support.
