Patient, plain-English help with the technology your household relies on.
Lost documents, family photos or an unreliable drive can be worrying. FixPoint assesses the problem, explains whether recovery is practical and helps home users and small businesses set up sensible backups.
“I can’t recommend Ryan enough. He is so knowledgeable and helpful but also doesn’t make you feel silly for the lack of techy skills. Personable, polite, quick to find the issue and great service.”

You do not need to diagnose the technical cause yourself. Tell us the symptoms and we can work forward from there.
Tell us which device is affected, what happened before the files disappeared and whether you have another copy. A deleted folder, a computer that will not boot and a physically damaged drive can need very different next steps.
If a drive is making unusual noises, disconnecting or showing errors, stop using it and ask for advice. Avoid installing recovery tools or saving new files to the affected drive, as further changes can reduce the chance of recovering what you need.
Recovery depends on the condition of the device, what has happened to the data and whether it has been overwritten or is encrypted. We explain what can reasonably be attempted before starting chargeable work; we cannot guarantee that every file can be recovered.
Physically damaged drives or more complex cases may need a specialist recovery provider. We will explain when a case is beyond the work we can undertake. Any specialist work and costs need a separate agreement.
If you want to prevent future loss, we can help decide which files need protecting, how often they change and where backup copies should be kept. Options may include external storage or a suitable cloud backup service, with hardware and subscription costs explained separately.
We can set up or review the agreed backup, check that it runs and try a sample restore where possible. The handover explains how to check it is still working and what to do when a device or account changes.

Practical support for computers, users, Microsoft 365 and local networks.
We explain the recommended next step and agree the cost before chargeable work begins.
No. Recovery depends on the device, the type of failure and what has happened since the files were lost. We explain the likely options and limitations before you agree to chargeable work.
Labour starts from £45, with the scope and cost agreed after understanding the problem. Storage devices, paid software, cloud subscriptions and specialist recovery are separate costs where needed. We clarify any assessment or attempted-recovery charge before starting.
Stop using the affected device if files have been lost or the drive appears to be failing. Tell us what happened and which files matter most. Do not install recovery software onto that drive or send passwords, recovery keys or sensitive files through the enquiry form.
Yes. You do not need to have lost data to book help. We can set up a suitable backup, review an existing one and show you how to check it and restore a file, with any hardware or subscription costs agreed first.
A few plain-English details are enough. We'll work out the sensible next step from there.
